Waiting on God–Our Journey of Adoption…an adoption blog about the book, paper pregnancies, & persisting in prayer.
I love the Psalms. They are so vivid, so real. The Psalmists just told God exactly how they were feeling. The good, the bad, the ugly. Then, they turned around and praised God through all of it. Recognizing His goodness, His love, His Sovereignty.
Even in older translations, we can see the real emotions expressed; however, in more modern translations and paraphrases we can experience the emotions more closely to the way they would have been experienced in the original language as expressed by the Psalmists.
In Peterson’s The Message, Psalm 118:29 reads–
From God I have learned about real love, about forgiveness, about goodness, and about never giving up.
How about you?
