Waiting Forever

“Good things come to those who wait.” Do you agree? How long is it reasonable to wait for something you waitingreally want? I can’t believe I almost deleted this daily prompt called Waiting Room.

Microwave ovens, jet airplanes, Skype, and text messaging prove that our generation enjoys fast results. Have we forgotten the value, wisdom, and lessons learned in persevering and waiting? Have we forgotten that a child waits 364 days for the joy of Christmas morning? Have we forgotten a woman waits nine months to give birth to a child?

Abraham and Sarah waited 90-100 years for Isaac.

Moses waited 40 years before God brought him back to Egypt to bring the Israelites out of slavery.

Noah waiting for the waters to subside…Jonah in the belly of the whale…Joseph in prison…

I nearly gave up waiting for a daughter to join our family. But God had not forgotten her or us. It may have taken nearly a decade, but she was so worth the wait!

So, what are you waiting for?
