About the Author

Delana attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, and graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is the author of three books: Nine Year Pregnancy, Three Days at Sea, and My Paper Pregnancy Journal.

In 2009 she became the administrator and one of the writers of the  blog, The Education Café. She enjoys singing, reading, hiking and running. Since childhood, Delana has always enjoyed expressing herself in writing—through poetry, stories, letters, songs and prayers written in journals. In 1995, LifeWay’s HomeLife Magazine published her poem Within These Walls.

Delana has been married for 26 years to her college sweetheart James. They have three sons and one daughter (whom they adopted from Thailand at the age of 6 in 2007). They also have a beautiful daughter-in-law and precious grandson.

An Air Force brat, Delana and her three siblings never lived in one house for more than about four years growing up. As an adult, she and her husband continued this pattern, living in four states and six countries, visiting dozens more. When her family is not living and working overseas, they live in Houston, Texas.
